The hype generated around the launch of Redmi Killer 2.0 series has paid off. It sold 200,000 gadgets within a path breaker time of 1 hour and 45 minutes. But that does ring a bell to competitors of Xiaomi? Brands like Huawei, Oppo, Samsung, Honor, Vivo cannot seriously undermine the rising popularity. The rising sales and dominance in the international markets is a signal not to be ignored.

The advertisement has shown the creative side by taking on the original flagship killer – OnePlus.In the images tweeted you can see that Redmi K20 ads are positioned alongside an existing poster of Robert Downey Jr. with his OnePlus 7 Pro. Also, pay attention to the font used by Xiaomi creative advertisement team which is the same as used by their competitor. The pun is intended on OnePlus.

It was rumored that Redmi series will be rebadged and sold as Poco F2 in India. The pending release and hype around Poco F2 had led to such rumors. But from the advertising campaign coming in the tweet of Manu Jain’s, it clearly echoes that the publicity is for Redmi Killer series and not Pocofone series.

In the first sale, the base variant was priced @ CNY 2,499 (approx Rs 25,000) in China. The sale price of other variants of Redmi K20 Pro in China can be checked here. It gives a clue to what the launch price of Pocofone F2 Pro in India will be!

Redmi K20 Pro Features
Redmi Killer 2.0 series was unveiled in China in the last week of May. Flagship is the first to be powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC and 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor. The Pro version is paired with 6GB or 8GB RAM and runs on Android Pie-based MIUI 10 out-of-the-box. It’s built around a 6.39-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED notch-less display. As far as optics are concerned, it has the first, a rear triple camera setup. They translate to a combination of 48MP main, 13MP ultra-wide, and 8MP telephoto modules. Additionally, Xiaomi has launched 20MP selfie camera which pops up from the top in this model giving a bezel-less display. Cooming in four memory configurations, Redmi K20 Pro packs a 4,000 mAh long lasting battery too. It also has game turbo 2.0. Addressing the issues of Poco F1, this model has tried to give advanced features which are premium in the budget segment!
Retail Box leaks of Xiaomi Mi 9T confirm its Redmi K20
As I had pointed put in my post earlier, in global markets minus China, Redmi Killer 2.0 will be rebadged. In some markets like EMEA region, Redmi K20 will be sold under the label of “Xiaomi Mi 9T”. It is only a matter of labels in different countries but inside it is Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. As of now, it is not clear whether both the models will be available in the launch regions. But the color and storage capacity options might vary from region to region.
