With a lot of new phones bombing the phone market these days, Xiaomi is also going to compete in what we can call a ‘flagship competition’. Xiaomi India’s head Manu Kumar Jain took to Twitter to congratulate OnePlus for its One Plus 7 launch. But Jain added that the “flagship killer 2.0” was on the way. That means that Xiaomi is soon going to launch the awaited Redmi K20 which will be called ‘Poco F2’ in the Indian market. In addition to competition from OnePlus 7, it will face stiff rivalry with Asus Zenfone 6. A piece of good news for gadgets’ buyers! They will have a wide range to choose from in terms of features and price.
For true Android fans, performance has always been the main priority with the camera being the second. So, there’s definitely going to be a tough fight among a lot of flagship phones during the 2nd quarter of 2019. Poco F2 is almost close to its launch. It is expected that Poco F2 like its predecessor Poco F1 will fall in the ‘affordable flagship’ segment. Asus has also launched its flagship phone, the Zenfone 6, globally. Though the exact date of the launch of Asus Zenfone 6 is not confirmed, it is expected to launch in around 3-4 weeks. So, Poco F2 is going to face tough competition from this new device as well.
Specifications of Asus Zenfone 6
The number ‘855’ on the image of the tweet posted by Xioami India’s head reveals that this device will be paired with a Snapdragon 855 chipset. So, this is definitely going to be the cheapest phone out there with the fast Snapdragon 855 heart. We are expecting a 6GB as well as an 8 GB variant, although nothing could be said about the storage options. On the other hand, the Asus Zenfone 6 also comes mated with the Snapdragon 855. Talking about the RAM and storage options, the Zenfone 6 is available in 3 versions: the 6GB+64GB, the 6GB+128 GB variant and the top spec 8GB+256GB variant.
The Poco F2 is expected to come with a triple camera set up at the back with a 48 MP camera (Sony IMX586 sensor) being the primary one. The front one will be a 20 MP pop-up unit. On the other side, the Zenfone 6 uses a flippable camera which acts as the rear as well as the front camera. The durability of the flippable unit is still to be tested though.
Poco F2 will most probably be having a 4000 mAh battery which will definitely support whopping 27W fast charging while the Zenfone 6 is having a massive 5000 mAh battery unit and that too with fast charging support.
Poco F2 is rumored to come with a 6.39-inch AMOLED display while the one on the Zenfone 6 is a 6.4 inch FHD+ LCD. It is not confirmed whether the Poco F2 will come with a Gorilla Glass 6 protection or not.
This unit is expected to come with a dual sim hybrid slot that means the user can either use 2 sims at a time or 1 sim and a memory card (up to 256 GB).
We’re expecting the Poco F2 to be priced around 26000 INR. It’s obviously going to be a lot cheaper than the Asus Zenfone 6 which is expected to start from around 35000 in India. So, its definitely going to attract a lot of buyers considering the price as well as the wide service network of Xiaomi.
The Poco F2 is surely going to be a great performance machine and that too at a much lower price. The exact date of Poco F2 launch is not known yet but we expect it to launch by mid of June
