After a break of 18 months, Poco is back with a bang. We are only 4 days to the launch event of Poco X2 scheduled for February 4. At this stage, I have lots of confirmed as well as leaks and rumors for you. Let us have a look at what Poco has confirmed to us on the features of Poco X2.
From the images shared on the site of Poco, the features to be talked about will be “Extreme Refresh Rate, Extreme Gaming.” Promising an OLED refresh rate of 120Hz, Poco India tweeted “You wanted to hear this. It’s time to Xperience the Xtreme with a display that is #SmoothAF. Introducing the awesome 120Hz display on the #POCOX2.” The site could also test the refresh rate of the device you owned.
The images on the site boasted of a #SmoothAFbattery needed for #120HzDisplay Confirming it Poco tweeted saying, “Here’s the hint for all the #POCO fans who asked us, what about battery? We won’t shy away in saying that it will be #SmoothAF on #POCOX2.” You can expect a 4500mAh battery,#SmoothAF, USB Type-C port, a bottom-ported loudspeaker grille with a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom.
To back it up, Poco shared a teaser of “Get ready to Xperience charging tech that is #SmoothAF.” More details were revealed on its retail channel partner site, Flipkart, about 27W fast charging ability. The teaser showed that 4500mAH battery can be charged up to 40% in just 25mins with 2A fast charger. The current version of Poco has been designed for gamers with extra cooling.
The phone will have a quad rear camera setup which includes a 64-MP primary sensor (Sony IMX686, 1/1.7-inch, f/1.89, 1.6um), 8-MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, 2-MP portrait camera, and 5-MP macro camera. There is a dual camera in the front, a 20-MP, and 2-MP selfie lenses.
Now let us talk about the leaks. There are couple of images from tipsters floating on the internet. These images confirm Poco X2 to be a rebranded version of Redmi K30. The tipped photos of the front and rear give the feel of Chinese version of Redmi K30.
The display appears to be 6.67-inch, 20:9 full HD, narrow bezels, and 120Hz ‘RealityFlow Display.’ The image shows the SD configuration which is Qualcomm SM7150. It stands for the Qualcomm model number SD 730 and is the same processor that powers the 4G variant of the Redmi K30. The leaked images of the prototype show MIUI 11.0.2 based on Android 10. The security patch is dated November 2019 but Poco X2 will get the latest one which is about to be released.
According to the tip-off, the base variant of 6GB RAM & 64GB storage model will be priced at INR18,999 ($265/€240). There are other options also but there are no updates about them.
