To be launched Redmi Snapdragon 855 smartphone is under the scanner of gadget lovers since long. No official name has been declared yet and one can find several names on media. Initially, it was Redmi Pro 2, then Redmi X and most recently Redmi K20 Pro. In fact, it is being assumed that Redmi K20 Pro, when launched in India, will be re-labeled as Poco F2.
There have been no concrete pieces of evidence about Redmi K20 Pro launch and specifications from Xiaomi. Company has not released any official confirmation status but this will not hold us back. This one is related to Weibo post from the general manager of Xiaomi Smart Hardware Department, Tang Mu where he is saying that he has booked a spot with Lu Weibing, the General Manager of Redmi brand for its upcoming conference. In the post, no date of the meeting was mentioned but as always it led us to speculate that the meeting should happen on 13th May. Going by the message and trend set during the launch of Redmi Note 7 Pro, it is expected that Redmi Snapdragon 855 smartphone launch will be accompanied by the launch of “one more thing” as well. But he is from Smart Hardware Department, the best guess is that another device could be IoT-powered smart home device.
Redmi K20 Pro with SD 855 could be launched on 13th May
The Redmi flagship smartphone, Redmi K20 Pro, powered by SD855 SoC is likely to be launched on 13th May in China. This has been guessed from the post on Weibo by Tang Mu. The event will clash with the launch date of OnePlus 7 planned on 14th May 2019. India can hope to get Poco F2 in mid-June once it is launched.

Redmi SD 855 flagship smartphone is internally codenamed “Raphael”, besides being powered by the most powerful Snapdragon 855 SoC chipset will have 256GB version and a manually open “GPU overclocking” feature. The leaks of microblogging site have revealed that the device will have Xiaomi’s first pop-up selfie camera in addition to a series of first-class features (an OLED display with integrated ID sensor and a triple 48 MP camera). He had suggested that it will come with a very narrow chin,3.5 mm headphone jack will be retained as it is and it will be the first “real full screen” Redmi device from Xiaomi. It is being speculated from the words “powerful camera and long-lasting battery life” of Lu Weibing that Redmi K20 Pro will have 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and a battery capacity no less than 4100 mAh. Xiaomi going by its reputation will give the cheapest SD855 smartphone, be assured!
