Here comes the beast finally! Redmi K20 to be rebranded and sold as Poco F2 in India

Knockout Blow from Xiaomi!

In the overseas market, Xiaomi Killer 2.0 series – Redmi K20 and K20 Pro will be rebranded as Poco F2 and Mi 9T respectively. Gear up guys!

No more leaks now on Redmi and Poco F2 launch! The dates are out. On 1st June, the first sale of Redmi K20 Pro will start @10am China Time. On 6th June, @10:00 am China Time, Redmi K20 and Redmi 7A will be open for buying in the market. With the official release in China, now it is the turn of Xiaomi to focus on non-Chinese markets. But as speculated earlier, Redmi Killer series will not be sold outside China under the sub-brand of Redmi.

The news which was coming was Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro will be launched in the Russian market by names of Xiaomi Mi 9T and Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro in June. The expected price tag will be at the same level as the Mi 9 SE and the vanilla Mi 9. The Xiaomi Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro will be priced in Russia starting at RUB 25,000. Polish market also suggested the same with Xiaomi teasing the arrival of members to the Mi 9 family with a pop-up selfie camera. These new entries also look to be Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro as per the leaks and they are based on K20 and K20 Pro. Check out the tweet

Redmi K20 rebranded Poco F2

The launch in India has gained momentum with a tweet from Manu Jain on “RT 🔄 if you want us to launch them in India! – at Xiaomi (小米”. Though I was initially speculating that Redmi K20 Pro model will be rebranded as Poco F2 in India. But the news flashing up is that the SD855 version will be actually branded PocPhone F2 or in other words, Redmi K20 Pro is likely to be launched as Poco F2 PRO. While the vanilla flavor of Redmi K20, powered by SD730, will instead be launched as Pocophone F2. This implies that the base Pocofone F2 will be cheaper. The cost of the base variant of Redmi K20 will hover around Rs20155 on the basis of its China launch price tag.

To summarise, China will have Redmi flagship devices and international markets will carry Xiaomi’s brand. But it remains to be seen which market will have which label. But one thing is certain, the hardware configuration will not vary much. The launch price will, of course, be astonishing, true to Xiaomi’s reputation!
